Amazon Lily is an empire and island located in Paradise on the dangerous Calm Belt. It is also known as the Island of Women and is currently being ruled by the World's Greatest Sharpshooter, Vipe Lycodia. Thanks to her ruling alone, Amazon Lily has become heavily fortified and has a strong restriction on men from entering the island.

Over 40 years ago, the island was previously ruled by Salmusa who was still the longest regining ruler of Amazon Lily who had been ruling it for 50 years. According to Salmusa, Amazon Lily was a much more "hostile" island that was constantly invaded by pirates who attempted to claim the women for themselves. However, she was able to liberate the island in her name and was able to keep the island protected for many years. She would then pass the title over to Lycodia after the latter was able to achieve her status as "World's Greatest Sharpshooter" knowing it will furthur protect Amazon Lily.

General Information[]

Amazon Lily is a fairly massive kingdom that is known for two things: being an island soley populated by woman and one that is associated with a large abundance of mushrooms. Being an island found on the Calm Belt, the waters around Amazon Lily are dangerous and numerous of Sea Kings can be found lurking closeby. As such, giantic mushrooms have been placed by Lycodia herself using the powers of her Kinrui Kinrui no Mi Devil Fruit that give out spores that deter Sea Kings. Mushrooms are the main plentiful item of Amazon Lily and have been used for numerous of different things such as cooking, planting, and even offensive uses.

As stated above, Amazon Lily's most notable feature is that the island itself is completely populated by women. Men in particular are strictly prohibited due to the previous ruler, Salmusa, imposing the rule. She mentions that men used to ravage Amazon Lily in the past all of the time, and had to put her foot down to ensure they won't set foot on the island. Lycodia imposed this rule as well and placed large, poisonous mushrooms outside the island to prevent anyone from entering as well as using her incredible Haki to sense people from a distance to determine if they are hostile or not. Amazon Lily as a whole rejects the outside world, especially those associated with the World Government due to their involvement with wiping out nearly all of Lycodia's race in the past.

Kingdom Information[]

Architecture[]

Amazon Lily is a very lush island full of different ypes of vegetation. As stated above, the island is heavily populated by different types of mushrooms with the majority of them supplied by Lycodia herself. Since the mushrooms do not require water to stay alive, they can thrive even during rare droughts. Amazon Lily also features fresh water that is completely drinkable thanks to being filerted by Water Shrooms that grow alongside the sides of rivers (though Lycodia states that the water around the outside of Amazon Lily is still too salty to be filtered and must be avoided). On that subject, the water around the borders of Amazon Lily is toxic having a slight purple color to indicate the poison mushrooms that are grown around there to prevent Sea Kings from wanting to attack Amazon Lily.

Aside from large cliffs and saves, the island also features other attractions that have been shaped around thanks to the Dragonoid Terra with her powers of the Waku Waku no Mi. Amazon Lily features a very large town known as Snake Village that features many different shops and houses. This is found within the heart of Amazon Lily as means for the ordinary citizens to live peacefully compared to the Kuja Pirates where some live within the forests themselves to train themselves.

Wildlife[]

Numerous of common animals live on Amazon Lily including rabbits, squirrels, monkeys, etc. However, the island is most notable for harboring a large abdunce of large carnivores and hostile animals such as snakes, boars, tigers, lions, and bears. The women of Amazon Lily in particular do not like the boars due to the large beasts constantly challengeing and killing the other animals namely the snakes and often, at times, cause trouble in the town for the other women. As such, it is often a tradition for those wanting to join the Kuja Pirates must prove themselves by hunting and killing a boar. However, said boar must be causing issues for others which is often the case.

However, the other animals on the island doesn't compare to the aformentioned snakes. Snakes are considered a valuable creatures to Amazon Lily as it has been mentioned that a previous "snake goddess" is the reason why Amazon Lily came to be. Nearly every snake on Amazon Lily has been tamed to aid the Kuja with some even acting as body guards in case of rare outside attacks; however, according to Lycodia, snakes that are hostile and untamable do reside in the depths of the caves in Amazon Lily nicknamed the "Snake's Pit." Most of the snakes that are kept as pets are non-venomous, while others that acts as guards contains enough venom to kill a Sea King within minutes. Even those with increased immunity to poison will still feel lightheaded upon being bit by one of the snakes.

Mushrooms[]

The other primary source of life, as stated above, are the large abundnce of mushrooms that can be found on the island. The majority of the mushrooms are found naturally on Amazon Lily, while others are produced by an outside source thanks to Lycodia and her Devil Fruit powers. The mushrooms come in many different shapes and sizes while others even possess unique effects such as causing fits of laughter, drowsiness, and even hypnosis. Lycodia views the mushrooms of Amazon Lily the most "valuable crop" saying that while the common ones aren't worth much, the rarer ones are worth thousands of beli. The spores of the mushrooms in particular can be spread throughout other areas and can also be laced on arrows of the Kuja in order for them to attack with.

Types of mushrooms[]

  • Body Mushrooms: A type of mushroom that, when eaten, will cause mushrooms to sprout all over a person's body. If left untreated, it could result in the user's death. The Body Mushrooms must be carefully pulled from the body and their stems be burned off with either fire or a small dose of acid. These mushrooms are commonly used by Kuja to incapticate men that try to invade Amazon Lily.
  • Laughing Mushrooms: Another common type of mushroom that can cause uncontrollable fits of laughter when consumed. These mushrooms can be effective as deterrents in order to catch intruders off-guard. The effects of laughing mushrooms will fade away on their own, but can be canceled out by eating a rage mushroom.
  • Rage Mushrooms: This type of mushroom is also abundant on Amazon Lily and, when consumed, causes the person to become irrationally angry. When in this state, the person becomes hostile toward others around them. Most of the Kuja eat these mushrooms in order to increase their own brutality for combat especially when fighting against the boars. The effects of rage mushrooms can be canceled out by eating laughing mushrooms or waiting until the effects wear off on their own.

Culture[]

Overview[]

As mentioned numerous times, Amazon Lily is a women's-only island and, as such, only has needs that is favored toward the women. These includes services such as specific stores like hair salons, nail shops, and etc. They also only sell outfits such as dresses and other things; and the island also includes other things that are tailored specifically toward women such as women's only restrooms. The women, while curious toward men, the Kuja in particular are extremely hostile toward them. Originally, the Kuja treated any and every man that even tried to get near Amazon Lily with hostility and would try and kill them on the spot. This was the rule enforced by Salmusa, but much later when Lycodia rose to power, she amended the rule due to finding it to "inhumane." Now, she would sense out the men and if they proved no threat, she will simply lead them away by either firing warning arrows or using mushrooms to keep them at bay. Men that try to invade Amazon Lily with the intent to cause harm or more will be met with hostility and even death. However, only a very few number of men are allowed on Amazon Lily due to specific reasons in the past.

List of men allowed on Amazon Lily[]

  • Ieyasu (due to helping out Lycodia in the past)
  • Z. Spark (also due to helping out Lycodia in the past; also a Mink and is considered fine)

Festivals[]

Year of the Snake[]

During each year around the summer time, the Year of the Snake is held. This is an event created by Salmusa over 50 years ago that honors the snakes of Amazon Lily. As the snakes are the nation's animal of the island, Salmusa felt like it was fitting to dedicate a holiday to them for their assistance on Amazon Lily. On this festival, nearly all of the snakes of Amazon Lily (barring the hostile, one-tracked ones of the Snake's Pit) come out to unwind and relax alongside the other women on the island. The parties and others are celebrated all day but typically start around the afternoon. The snakes can also be offered snacks as a way to serve as thanks for their contributions as well. Even though the snakes typically eat small animals like mice, they very much like certain mushrooms that, according to Lycodia, taste like certain animals. She felt this is the more humane way to feed the snakes rather than offering them dead/live animals.

National Women's Month[]

Although Amazon Lily is already an island populated by only women, National Women's Month is a holiday created by Salumsa to honor the day she took over Amazon Lily in the name of women. Salmusa states that every year on that specific day, they would dance all day and night and celebrate how they still reign supreme over men. The women even wear special clothing to celebrate the day which mainly consist of dresses and gowns. Lycodia herself finds the holiday "irrelevant" as she considers every day to be "National Women's Month" as women are only allowed on the island normally anyway, but Salmusa convinced her to let the holiday go on due to the women genuinely enjoying themselves with it. Over time, the holiday did seem to "merge" alongside the regular traditions of Amazon Lily itself, and only really gets brought up whenever the rare chance a man makes it to the island.

Layout and Locations[]

Forests and Mountains[]

Amazonian Rainforest[]

The Amazonian Rainforest is the largest rainforest on Amazon Lily and easily one of the largest forests in Paradise. The forest covers roughly 60% of Amazon Lily and is considered a sacared place on the island. According to Lycodia, the forest is so massive it takes roughly three days to trek it by foot. The forest is also extremely dangerous featuring all kinds of hostile animals within it from snakes, lions, and the infamous wild boars that are strong enough to ram through trees. The Amazonian Rainforest also features heavy downpours that happens every other day that could lead to minor flooding in the forest. There are also different types of mushrooms that can be both harmful and helpful that can cause differnet types of effects. Salmusa once stated if you get lost in the forest, you might as well right your will as it is very easy to get lost. Especially considering the many different diseases that the

Despite the dangers that the forest poses, the Amazonian Rainforest is considered the perfect training grounds for aspiring Kuja. Many come out here to practice their archery and fight against the wild boars. There are others that even build shelters in the forest with Asclepius, Lycodia's right hand woman, making a small settlement within the heart of the forest where she trains Kuja. Asclepius even states that one can adapt to the harsh conditions of the rainforest if they trained themselves enough. She is also one of two individuals that is able to tame all of the hostile snakes around including the ones from the Snake's Pit found a little furthur in the forest.

Snake's Pit[]

The Snake's Pit is a very large and dangerous cave that is located within the depths of the Amazonian Rainforest. The Snake's Pit is a cave that is said to have "no end" and that thousands of highly venomous snakes live down there. These snakes have been named "Biohazards" due to their extremely letal venom that can eat through solid stone and kill a grown man within seconds. Salmusa revealed that the Snake's Pit came to be when a certain breed of snake kept feeding on highly toxic mushrooms that eventually gave them the properties of venom itself. Because of it's high risk, the Snake's Pit has been permeantly closed off to the public and only Lycodia has the prescense to keep the snakes tamed at her command.

Snake Square[]

The main area of the townside of Amazon Lily. Snake Square contains all of the homes for the non-Kuja women who simply want to live out their lives. Snake Square is located more toward the far east side of Amazon Lily located beyond the Amazonian Rainforest. There is also a main path that leads directly from the share to the shore to allow for other visitors to walk down through instead of going through the risky rainforest.

Gorgan Palace[]

Gorgan Palace, previously named Kuja Castle, is a massive palace that sits on top of Snake Square and serves as the primary home of Vipe Lycodia herself. Gorgan Palace is a breathtaking palace that has been built in the past by Salmusa and the Kuja warriors as a place for royality to stay. Due to the prestige of the location, Gorgon Palace can only be visited by those that have formal permission to enter in the first place. The palace features many different things including a kitchen, bathrooms, etc. After Lycodia rose to power, she had some more rooms added mainly a training hall for her archery practicing and a super-cooled storage room where she keeps her most valuable and rare mushrooms stored in.

History[]

Past[]

Over 100 years ago, Amazon Lily was an unnamed island that used to house a small population of women that wanted to live ordinary lives. However, violent pirate crews full of nothing but men heard of the island of only women and decided to take upon themselves to take over the island. The men were hostile and only saw the women has slaves to have them do all of there work, as well as forcing them to mate. Amazon Lily was once referred to as "Women's Hell" due to the sheer amount of trouble the men caused for the women.

However, around a few years later, Salmusa who was a captain working for the Marines at the time had enough of hearing how the men kept distrubing the island. She was given direct orders to not interfere but Salmusa was a woman that would always rebel against men that abuses women. Salmusa quit from her position from the Marines and decided to take over the unnamed island for herself. Salmusa would lead into the battle against the men known as the "Battle of the Sexes." After months of war, Salmua would successfully lead the conquest of the island itself and drives the pirates out.

Salmusa spent the next few years afterwards establishing the women and the island itself as a formidable force in order to keep the men away. Salmusa, deciding to further rebel against the World Government and the Marines that refused to help her, becomes a pirate and with the women that came with her formed the Kuja Pirates. Salmusa also named the island "Amazon Lily" due to powerful amazoian women that live there hoping to deter men and other pirates from trying to enter the island. Salmusa also imposed a further rule that no men are to be allowed on Amazon Lily at all and must be shot down on sight. Salmusa, naturally, named herself as the Queen of Amazon Lily and strives to protect all women that want to escape from the rules of men.

Under Salmusa's ruling, Amazon Lily finally became an island that woman could call peace. Salmusa helped built a civilization that would be able to defend themselves from others. Salmusa realized that the Kuja warriors must be the ones to defend the other women from possible outsiders, and developed another skill to match their might: Kyudo. Kyudo is used by Salmusa and the Kuja to help fight foes from a distance to weaken them or deter them from entering Amazon Lily. They were even able to infuse the arrows with their Haki to increase their potency. Salmusa was quite skilled herself, but mainly focuses on her own physical prowess.

During at one point, a young girl would wash up on the shore. The Kuja found the girl was covered in scares and other bruises. Salmusa would later comfront the girl who told her that she was abused by her father every day and managed to get away by making a poorly-made raft just to get away. Salmusa understands the girl's plight and decided to take her under her wing. She also asks of the girl's name who said she goes by just "Failure." An upset Salumsa from hearing that name decided to name the girl something she always wanted her own daughters to have: Boa Manasa with Manasa being the goddess of snakes. Salmusa would train Manasa to be the next in line for the throne in the future, but could "sense" that Manasa doesn't seem to have the "conqueror's spirit." Salmusa attempted to find another use for Manasa and after the young girl at the rare Anicent Zoan-type Devil Fruit, the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Titanboa, she decided to have her train with the Kuja instead. For over 20 more years later, Manasa would grow to become a strong warrior and serves as the personal trainer for the Kuja warriors. She takes her home in the lethal Amazonian Rainforest in order to train other aspiring Kuja.

Salmusa's rule was unquestioned as she was beloved by all. Former Marine officials constantly tried to recruit her back to the force after hearing how powerful the Kuja became, but Salmusa rejected them all saying that they should've helped her when they needed them the most. Salmusa would then lead Amazon Lily for a record-breaking 40 years but knows that her time is coming to an end due to her age. Even at the age of 125, Salmusa was still able to hold her own, but knows that her time is coming soon. Salmusa always wanted her own daughter that could hopefully inherit the will in order to rule in her place, but was unable to conceive children. However, despite this setback, Salmusa continued her rule while Manasa would eventually grow in strength even more in order to help the Kuja stronger.

Then, one day, Salmusa found a young girl washed up on the shores of Amazon Lily who was coughing up water. Salmusa notes the girl isn't too young, around her 20s she looked but Salmusa was caught off-guard that the woman's appearance. She had pale, white skin and her eyes were as pale as the moon itself. Salmusa, despite all of her years of living, couldn't identify what she was, but attended to the more pressing concern on the girl's injuries. Salmusa asked for the girl's name and what happened to her and the girl said she was Vipe Lycodia who was recently able to escape a group of vile pirates that have tricked her and killed her younger sister during a raid. Lycodia mentions she is a race of blind people that are born with extraordinary good Observation Haki that use it to see around the world. Salmusa then remembers the race; the Momumokos, that were born with higher than usual senses that was deemed a threat by the World Government and sent to near extinction. Salmusa knew she wanted more answers, but the day already drew to an end and decided to take Lycodia back to the castle.

Salmusa finally got a grasp on Lycodia's situation and mentions that the two of them are very similar. Salmusa sees Lycodia looking very capable and offers to train her under her tutorage. Lycodia agrees and mentions she is very good at archery. Salmusa was pleased to hear that and offered to train Lycodia in the Kyudo, with the young blind girl mastering the art thanks to her Haki. Salmusa also noticed mushrooms starting to sprout around and Lycodia says she was able to take on her late sister's power of being able to transform into a produce spores that can form mushrooms. Salmusa mentions that can be very useful in combat as she could lace her mushrooms into her arrows. Lycodia does so and was able to take down some hostile animals. Salmusa notices that Lycodia is already able to deter most of the beasts and decides to have her go up against the infamous boars of Amazon Lily.

Salmusa takes Lycodia out late to a clearing that had a hostile boar eating grass. Salmusa says that if Lycodia can defeat it, she will be inducted into the Kuja Pirates much to her excitement. However, as Lycodia prepares to hunt the boar, she can sense there are multiple more just waiting around. Salmusa was caught off-guard by the number of boar saying only a few come out at night at a time. The boar that Lycodia was watching suddenly lunged at her as she was distracted with Salmusa while the Kuja Empress tries to fight the horde off. As the moon becomes full, Lycodia transforms into a large werewolf and kills the giant boar she was facing. As Salmusa was being attacked by the rest of the boars, Lycodia screams out letting out a burst of Haoshoku Haki knocking out the rest of the boars. Salmusa was caught incredibly off-guard by the burst of Haoshoku saying to herself that Lycodia isn't distant to lead the Kuja, but rule over the entirely of Amazon Lily itself. To tend to her wounds, Salmusa and Lycodia head back to the palace to further discuss important things.

Salmusa would then tell Lycodia her entire backstory and even mentions that she was always wanting to find someone to properly lead Amazon Lily in her place due to being far past her prime. Lycodia asks about the Haoshoku Haki again and Salmusa tells Lycodia that those with the qualities to be a conqueror are destiant to have it. Salmusa even said that despite being a former Marine that was respected by many and the ruler of Amazon Lily for over four decades, she had never awakened to it hinting she may not been the proper ruler for Amazon Lily. Salmusa finishes by offering the throne over to Lycodia saying that she will spend the rest of her life trying to train Lycodia to be the strongest empress ever on Amazon Lily, as well as a renowned sharpshooter; these conditions are something that Lycodia eagerly agrees to.

Naturally, Lycodia proved herself to be an extremely effective warrior much to Salmusa's delight. Lycodia was able to arm her arrows with Haki being able to cause destructive damage as a result. She was always to even strike down trees with her incredible power which is a hint that Lycodia possesses even stronger Haki than Salmusa. Salmusa was even more surprised on how skilled Lycodia is and can feel like she can become the best archer the world has ever seen. That was when Salmusa made the decision to have Lycodia lead the Kuja Pirates into the world itself in order to prove her skills. Lycodia wonders why she should do this, and Salmusa argues that the world itself needs to know about her sharpshooting skills and says that after at least over a decade of sailing the seas, she would be able to use that status to make the world stay away from Amazon Lily. Lycodia agrees to this rule and, taking to the seas with her own pirate crew, the Kuja Pirates, in order to make the world recognize her as the "Greatest Sharpshooter in the World."

During the years that Lycodia is out to the seas, Salmusa and Manasa have been working hard to keep Amazon Lily in check. They would check the newspapers showing how Lycodia has even taken down the toughest of pirates and Marines. Manasa wonders if Amazon Lily would be safe under the notion of Lycodia gaining the title, and Salmusa states that the title helps in regards on helping to establish Lycodia's strength. Manasa mentions that it could be awhile, and Salmusa says that they much have hope and continue to help out Amazon Lily in their own ways. It was eventually the day where Lycodia, over 10 years later, has returned to Amazon Lily. Thanks to her time during the Dead End Pirates, she was able to obtain her status. Salmusa was shocked to hear her join a different pirate's crew, and Lycodia said it was purely for the help of her status. She also mentioned having her strength enhanced thanks to two pirates that were on the crew as well that actually were stronger than her in strength. Having obtained her status as the greatest sharpshooter,
