Hate me or love me, you watched. That's all you could do.
— Daisuke addresses the world in Operation: Skyfall.

Sora, "Warrior of the Sea" Daisuke[10] recently deemed the "World's Worst Criminal"[12] by the World Government, is the Chancellor of the United Federation[3] — an alternative government designed to inspire real change in the world.[14] Although he claims he does not seek to overthrow the World Government as most revolutionary armies, his primary objective is to rule from the Empty Throne to create a society in his image and abolish the many systems upheld and implemented by the global regime.[15]

The bastard child of Stella Augustus and Sora Sayuri, Daisuke comes from conflicting bloodlines as a member of Lodestar royalty as well as nobility of the World Government. However, because his father was unaware of his existence, Daisuke was raised as the "Child of Prophecy". From an early age, Daisuke inherited the will of countless generations who had endured oppression, placing upon him the weight of their high expectations. Burdened by these responsibilities, Daisuke sought freedom and eventually betrayed his family in place of his father's nobility, earning the designation Saint Stella Daisuke. Life as a Celestial Dragon brought him no comfort, often forced to conform and oppress. And several years later, Daisuke seized his own freedom by winning the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi in the Native Hunting Competition.

Daisuke travelled the world hoping his newfound freedom would be bring him happiness. Unfortunately, loneliness and disgust were the only sentiments he discovered on his journey. Growing to hate the world, Daisuke vowed to recreate it in his own image. However, unlike many who outright rebel against the global regime, Daisuke looked to leverage the government's resources and powers to his own benefit. Joining the Marines decades before the Great Pirate Era, Daisuke was recognized as one of the three generational talents - alongside Diane and Edo Shishio- that would bring about a new era.[16] He found immediate success combating pirates at sea, climbing through the ranks at a historical pace. His repeat battles against the Redbeard Pirates eventually came to a precipice during the God Valley Incident in which he struck the final blow against the notorious captain, Redbeard.[17] Following the event, Daisuke earned the designation, "Hero of the Marines".[9][18]

With his global reputation exceeding any individual marine alongside his widely regarded skills in battle, Daisuke was offered the position of admiral at the age of thirty.[19] But much to everyone's disbelief, Daisuke rejected the promotion deciding to remain as a Vice-Admiral which offered him greater autonomy. Alongside Hedwig, he founded the widely successfully comic strip, Sora, Warrior of the Sea — the main character being heavily based on him and his years of service. Due to his own actions along with his fictional portrayal, he was revered as the symbol of peace and justice.[20][21] His global influence became so threatening, Cipher Pol attempted to minimize his accolades and force him into submission on numerous occasions.[22] But after his name was attached to Pirate King's capture, his legacy as the greatest marine was solidified.[23]

From his base in G-0, Daisuke served as one of the primary defenses against pirates flocking to the New World.[24] But as he quelled rising threats when called upon, Daisuke plotted behind the scenes. With his individual influence having reached it apex, he began recruiting like-minded individuals to his support his claim. He enlisted those with power, influence or wealth to support his inevitable defection. Twenty-two years following the Pirate King's execution, he manufactured the events of the Sky Wars Saga in order to create the opportunity to globally denounce the Three Great Powers and defect with his reputation intact given the widespread fatigue surrounding the World Government.[25]

The global regime has made every attempt to disparage his legacy and career since his defection. He's been branded him with an outrageous bounty of Bsymbol?,000,000,000, effectively making him the most wanted man in the world. Regardless, his influence remains vast having welcomed powerful nations like Elbaf, Wano Country and Pantheon into the confederacy.[26] Within the Underworld, his many associates refer to him as The Godfather[7] - a world class broker with connections with many of the emperors. But across the globe, his name has become synonymous with deities across the globe.[11]

Daisuke serves as the author's primary antagonist his storyline, being the impetus of the majority of the narrative's events.

Appearance[]

An icon in the flesh, Daisuke stands as arguably the most recognizable figure in the world. Naturally, his distinguished reputation is supported by his refined appearance. From the Okama of Kamabakka Kingdom to the Kuja of Amazon lily, Daisuke's has been regarded as unequivocally gorgeous. This singular constant has been tested on numerous occasions against those of entirely different backgrounds and beliefs. Beyond general attraction, Daisuke is noted to carry a presence with him. More importantly however, Daisuke has been noted too give off a trust-worthy vibe, with his world famous smile immediately bringing comfort to anyone. But the greatest testament to his uncanny appearance are that his most redeeming and identifiable characteristics are used as marketing tools to sell merchandise and promote propaganda.

Daisuke towers above most standing at about 340 cm (11'2"), peering above almost all the admirals.[13] Despite his outlandish size, Daisuke has several other far more noteworthy characteristics. First and foremost, his thick blonde hair has been noted and referred to on several occasions, so much so pirates referred to him as blonde-hair or blondie prior to his ascension.[27] He has two distinct tufts that flop down from his head, leaning slightly to each side. Complimenting his head of hair are his thick swirly eye brows and turquoise eyes that have been known to be both endearing and menacing. Following his defection from the marines, he sports a thick beard that covers the most of his face. Embracing the more rugged outlook, Daisuke has seemingly adopted a more muscular build compared to his slender yet toned physique during his tenure as an officer. Regardless, Daisuke has aged like fine wine with even Chanel requesting he does photoshoot for her as a marketing scheme.[28]

Since his defection, Daisuke has abandoned the formal attire in place of a more traditional pirate garments. Supposedly carrying on the "Will of Fire" left behind by the Moon Pirates, he wears a black feathered coat that pays homage to the lunarians associated with the crew.[29] Contrasting his coat, he wears white shirt that's typically rolled up to his elbows except during more formal setting like during his meeting with the Underworld emperors. Additionally, Daisuke is always seen wearing pants cut below the knee, collected halfway up the shin that reveals his leg hair. The pattern varies depending on the day however, most depict some floral or sea-like pattern. Finally, his footwear consists of simple black sandals embroiled with an unknown gem. Himawari made note that his new appearance gives off an entirely different vibe than what it used to.[30]

A testament to his proficiency for battle, Daisuke has never suffered a single injury that has permanently scarred him. While some - mainly Donk E. Kong and Forseti- have diminished him for this, Daisuke takes great pride in the fact he's never been so gravely wounded to the point where someone permanently owns real-estate on his body. This feat, given the hundreds of battles he's partaken in, could not be achieved without the paws permanently ingrained onto his palms. Thanks to the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi, Daisuke pink paws on his hands that provide him immense power. Given the capabilities, he sometimes sports gloves to provide those some comfort while in his presence.

Not particularly interested in representing his marine affiliation, Daisuke wasn't often seen in his standard marine attire early on. Instead, he simply wore more formal attire more befitting of someone with higher rank within the organization without the insignia- he later revealed he did this intentionally to better depict his actual standing within the organization. During these days, Daisuke could be seen in a white or powder blue button with navy blue pants with either a loose tie.

Rapidly rising through the ranks, Daisuke was eventually awarded the signature navy coat embroiled with the "Justice" (正義 Seigi?) insignia on his back. From this point onward he almost exclusively wore suits beneath it. Prior to the God Valley Incident, Daisuke would typically clothe a navy blue suit. But afterwards, when Daisuke decided to make it more of a point to stand as an outlier within the system, he began sporting his signature stripped golden suit. With light brown belt and loafers, Daisuke eventually earned the codename, Kiwashi. His snappy distinct dressing style became tradition within the marines, with many emulating his decision to correlate to their suit with their respective codenames. Despite dozens of others throughout the years sporting their distinct styles, Daisuke has been the only one seen wearing the golden stripe suit.

Daisuke made it a habit to always look clean and pristine in his voyages. As symbol of peace and justice, Daisuke needed to seem insurmountable and the best way to depict such reassurances were to visually appear unfazed by any threat. It was an active effort to keep his clothing unscathed just as much as it was himself. So much so that opponents began to take it as a show of respect if he stripped to his button down.

Almost supernatural, Daisuke maintained his youthful appearance throughout his nearly four-decade long tenure as a marine. Blessed with flawless skin, Daisuke did not have a single wrinkle or blemish on his face or anywhere else on his body. Throughout the years his body structure has changed significantly. When he initially joined, Daisuke didn't host a lot of muscle on his body but was still quite formidable, prompting Napoleon to describe him as wire-like.[31] But in the years leading into the battle with the Redbeard Pirates, he put on a significant amount of mass. But immediately after and throughout most of the Great Pirate Era, Daisuke returned to a more slender form. Ironically, his fictional appearance did host a lot more mass which led many to anticipate the same. This expectation led to some to recklessly underestimate him which always ended in their demise.

Following the God Valley Incident, Daisuke was globally regarded as the Hero of the Marines. With his influence reaching new heights, he founded a comic series that would help deify him, called Sora, Warrior of the Sea. A tale that followed a superhero combating pirate villains across the four blues and the Grand Line, it was loosely based on his career as marine. Thus, it drawed on Daisuke's appearance to create the character.

Throughout the years, Sora has been drawn in different ways with varying outfits. But his main design has remained consistent throughout its nearly four decade tenure. Sora is a extremely large man with an equally-muscular and well-defined physique, who's size is more akin to Kong than the Hero. Much like Daisuke, the character has chiseled features with pronounced cheekbones, a strong jawline, and swirly eyebrows. Instead of his tufts falling downwards, the two are swept upright. Many of his most dedicated fan have noted that it either looks like a 'W' or a crown, alluding to his inability to suffer defeat. However, an intention cosmetic choice suggested by Daisuke was to have his strong features regularly casts a dark shadow over his face, hiding everything but his bright blue eyes. This dissociation allowed other to envision themselves as the Hero but more importantly view Daisuke as such.

Bounty[]

Name Nickname Bounty
Sora Daisuke "Most Wanted Man in the World" Bsymbol5,290,290,000

First Bounty: At the end of the Sky Wars Saga, CP0 agent Fendi Montana personally ensured Daisuke was held accountable;e for every crime committed throughout his tenure as a marine. After extensive investigation, he compiled a list of his crimes which include:

  • High Treason and Mutiny
    • Daisuke formally proposed to the Levely, the council of world leaders, to alter the longstanding structure of the World Government by establishing a monarchial system. He audaciously nominated himself for the position of King, aiming to occupy the historically symbolic Empty Throne, thereby challenging the foundational principles of the world's governing body.
    • In response to the World Government's perceived failure to control the escalating piracy during the onset of the Great Pirate Era, Daisuke spearheaded an ambitious and wide-scale rebellion. This act was a direct affront to the authority and competence of the World Government, undermining its ability to maintain order and security.
    • Daisuke engaged in public denunciation of the World Government, leveraging his influence and platform to discredit and delegitimize its authority on a global scale. He announced the formation of an alternative governing body, the United Federation, thereby declaring his secession and the establishment of a rival political entity.
    • Daisuke's defection from the Marines precipitated the Great Marine Apostasy, a significant event in which approximately 25% of the Marine force, amounting to 270,000 personnel, abandoned their posts. This mass desertion included high-ranking officials such as an admiral, several vice admirals, and other esteemed Marine officers, indicating the profound impact of Daisuke's influence and the depth of dissent within the ranks.
    • The ramifications of Daisuke's defection extended beyond the Marine organization, inciting political upheaval known as the Eleven-Nation Revolution. During this tumultuous period, eleven nations previously aligned with the World Government renounced their allegiances and joined forces with Daisuke's United Federation. This political shift not only weakened the World Government's international coalition but also significantly altered the geopolitical landscape.
  • Crimes Against Humanity
    • Daisuke has been directly responsible for the deaths of numerous individuals occupying positions of significant influence and power, including but not limited to officers, members of royalty, and nobles. Notable victims of these heinous acts include Stella Augustus, Sora Sayuri, and Coco Giorgo. These targeted killings not only destabilized the political and social order but also instilled fear and chaos across various communities.
    • Daisuke has orchestrated and executed genocidal campaigns against the populations of Azerbaijan, Ohara, and Nemar, leading to the complete eradication of these communities. These acts of genocide represent a systematic attempt to destroy specific groups, characterized by their deliberate and merciless nature.
    • Contrary to his violent actions against certain groups, Daisuke has also provided sanctuary and protection to several races deemed illegal or actively hunted by authorities.
  • Corruption and Abuse of Power
    • Utilizing his high standing and prestige within the Marine ranks, Daisuke systematically corrupted officers and affiliates, persuading them to act on his behalf or to defect to the United Federation. This manipulation not only served his personal objectives but also weakened the integrity and cohesiveness of the Marine organization.
    • Daisuke initiated and conducted covert operations without the knowledge or approval of higher-ranking officers. These operations often worked against the interests of the government, reflecting a deliberate subversion of authority. He further coerced or directly ordered his subordinates to maintain secrecy regarding these missions, ensuring that his actions went unchecked and unreported, thus consolidating his control and influence.
    • As a celebrated "Hero of the Marines", Daisuke significantly influenced the philosophical and operational approach of the Marine organization. By promoting the concept of individual justice over the traditional doctrine of 'Absolute Justice,' he intentionally fostered an environment where loyalty to the Marine's core principles was diminished. This shift led to a more fragmented and less disciplined force, with Marines interpreting and applying justice based on personal beliefs rather than a unified code.
  • Conspiring Against the Government
    • Daisuke has established a strategic affiliation with the Germa Kingdom in the North, which has since commenced its territorial conquests, likely spurred by this alliance.
    • Long-standing ties with the Five Families of the West, a notable power bloc in the West, suggest deep-rooted collusion that potentially enhances Daisuke's influence and operational capabilities in this region. It believed they are the United Federation primary weapons distributor.
    • In the East, the widespread religious group Eternal Sun has proclaimed Daisuke as their messiah, indicating a blend of religious fervor and political maneuvering that could mobilize significant public support and resources for his cause.
    • In the South, the Latoya Brigade has been mobilized its fleet, further extending Daisuke's reach and impact across the seas.
    • Daisuke's conspired with even more figures in the Grand Line.
    • Daisuke's meeting with the infamous Bloodbeard on the Sanguine Isles marks a significant moment of collusion aimed at the World Government. They conspired to place bounties on Marines and World Government officials, an act that not only undermines the authority of the World Government but also escalates the level of threat and hostility towards its representatives.
    • The revelation of the Endpoints to Seiryuu by Daisuke represents a critical breach of confidential information, potentially granting a strategic advantage to forces opposed to the World Government. This act of revealing highly sensitive and potentially dangerous information could lead to unpredictable and destabilizing consequences.
  • Destruction and Sabotage
    • Daisuke strategically dismantled Arachne, a significant mercenary and bounty hunting guild allied with Napoleon. This action not only disrupted an established military alliance but also contributed to the increase in power of the Redbeard Pirates, further destabilizing the maritime power balance.
    • During the Sun Pirates' raid on Mary Geoise, Daisuke played a pivotal role in liberating the slaves and ensured that no nobles were harmed. However, his actions prevented the capture of the Sun Pirates, obstructing the course of justice and undermining the authority of the World Government.
    • After defeating the notorious S-rank commander Maverick, Daisuke notably failed to bring him in, an omission that effectively allowed Maverick to evade justice, reflecting a blatant disregard for legal and judicial processes.
    • Tasked with the evacuation of nobles during the God Valley Incident, Daisuke's intentional negligence resulted in the deaths of many nobles. His failure in this mission suggests a deliberate act of sabotage against the World Nobles.
    • Daisuke not only prevented the assassination of Ratatoskr but went as far as to fabricate his death and manipulate the memory of CP0 agent Hayate. This act of deception obstructed a critical covert operation, further complicating the political landscape.
    • By fabricating the death of Delgado Jelena following her defection from Cipher Pol, Daisuke enabled her to operate without restraint or accountability, thus hindering justice and aiding a known fugitive.
    • Daisuke's decision to enact a Buster Call on Ohara, without any official approval, represents a severe misuse of military power and a flagrant violation of protocol, indicating a willingness to bypass legal and ethical boundaries for his purposes.
    • By seizing the body of Himawari before her capture, Daisuke obstructed the legal process, denying the opportunity for a fair trial and evaluation of her crimes, and further shielding his daughter from the consequences of her actions.
    • Near the conclusion of the final battle against the Wukong Pirates, Daisuke liberates many of the pirate on the battlefield - hindering justice and aiding a known criminals.
  • Propaganda and Disinformation
    • In a strategic move, Daisuke, alongside Hedwig, took control of the World Economic Times, the largest news group in the world. This acquisition significantly diminished the World Government's ability to control and influence the public narrative, effectively wresting away a crucial tool of power and perception management.
    • Daisuke skillfully used the media to enhance his public image and prestige. By glorifying his victories, concealing his failures, and ensuring constant positive publicity, he crafted an image of an iconic and almost invincible figure. This manipulation of public perception elevated his status to that of the world's most renowned individual.
    • Leveraging his control over the media, Daisuke frequently denounced the World Government. These criticisms varied in intensity, often subtle but becoming overt and apparent during key periods when Daisuke was actively orchestrating moves to rebel against the government. This strategic use of media served to undermine the legitimacy of the World Government and sway public opinion in his favor.
    • Beyond propaganda, Daisuke utilized the media as an instrument of sabotage. Through carefully curated news and information dissemination, he was able to mislead, misinform, and manipulate both public opinion and strategic operations to his advantage, using disinformation as a weapon against his adversaries.
  • Destabilization of World Order
    • Daisuke strategically provoked Yonko Donk E. Kong and the Wukong Pirates into declaring war against the World Government. This maneuver was not merely an act of aggression but a calculated distraction to mask his own movements, sow widespread disdain towards the World Government, and serve as a pivotal catalyst for his revolutionary agenda. Through this act, Daisuke exploited existing tensions, directing the destructive force of the Yonko against the World Government to further his own ends.
    • Daisuke orchestrated a complex scheme enabling his daughter, Himawari, to infiltrate the ranks of the Shichibukai, acting covertly on his behalf throughout her tenure. This infiltration allowed Daisuke to manipulate the dynamics of the Three Great Powers from within, undermining their stability and integrity through actions carried out by his daughter.
    • The mass desertion of Marines, known as the Great Marine Apostasy, can be directly attributed to the influential decisions and orchestrated events by Daisuke. His actions and the subsequent ideological divide they fostered within the Marine ranks led to a significant loss of manpower and a weakening of the Marine organization's operational effectiveness.
    • As the premier broker known by the alias "the Godfather," Daisuke has accumulated substantial power and influence within the Underworld. His network extends to several emperors, reducing the World Government's influence and accessibility in critical areas. This dominion over the Underworld's dealings has allowed Daisuke to manipulate global events, trade, and the flow of information to his advantage, further destabilizing the established world order.

These crimes combined with his power, influence, resources, support and pre-existing reputation have damned Daisuke with largest single bounty assignment and the highest active bounty amount at Bsymbol5,290,290,000, making him the "Most Wanted Man in the World".
