Futen (風神, lit. "Wind God"), also known as Kaze no kemono (風の獣, lit. "Beast of the Wind"), is a pirate and a member of the Wukong Pirates, sailing the white white sea of Skypiea. Even before joining the Wukong Pirates, Futen was a well-known pirate being one of the jokers on the Grinnaway Pirates, before their disbandment. After Grinnaway joined the Redbeard Pirates and disbanded his crew, Futen made a name for himself in the underworld, selling tobacco. As such, people in the underworld call him Smokey (スモーキー, Sumōkī) for his calm and cool nature.
