The Kuu Kuu no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create, control, and transform into the element of vacuum, turning the user into a Void Human (空白人間 Kuuhaku Ningen). It was eaten by Genesis D. Lantis.
Etymology[]
- "Kuu" (空), as well as "Kuukuu" (空々) can be translated as "void" in Japanese.
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
Like with all other users of Logia Devil Fruits, the user of this fruit is able to control, create, and transform into an element. In this case, Lantis is able to control, create, and transform into the element of vacuum. The user could be described as the embodiment of outer space. By transforming into vacuum, Lantis can avoid attacks not imbued with Busoshoku Haki. Because vacuum has no oxygen, he is unaffected by fire, making him a natural enemy of the Mera Mera no Mi. He is also resistant to the Hie Hie no Mi because the reduced pressure in vacuum causes the ice to sublimate.
This fruit does not seem to have any weaknesses beyond those standard of Devil Fruits.
Usage[]
Lantis has used vacuum in various ways, including suffocating his opponents, creating a suction effect, manipulating air pressure to create strong windstorms, and survival in outer space.
Named Techniques[]
- Aether Angel (エーテル・エンジェル Eeteru Enjeru) Lantis assumes a large angelic form with a halo and six wings. His powers are maximized in this form.
