The Onibi Onibi no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to summon a variety of different colored wisps that are under the user's control, each colored wisp has a different skill, making the user a Wisp Human (鬼火人間 Onibi Ningen). It was eaten by Vesper D. Xenos.
Etymology[]
- In Japanese, Onibi means "wisp".
Appearance[]
It is a light palish blue devil fruit with distinctive swirls all over in the shape that almost resembles a small wisp in a way.
Strengths and Weaknesses[]
The wisps themselves are ethereal flames thus unable to be attacked or negated with any physical attacks and are able to move faster than the eye can track, meaning they're incredibly hard to dodge. One of the greatest strengths of this fruit is there is no real limit to the amount of Wisps summoned, the only limiting factor is the control and stamina levels. Because of how high Xenos' stamina is, he can summon an unlimited amount of wisps at his disposal.
Aside from the standard devil fruit weaknesses because of the amount of concentration required to effectively and masterfully control the wisps, Xenos can effectively still while using them and as such would be easy to hit if not carefully defended.
Usages[]
Xenos uses his fruit for combat, mainly long range. He also has the ability to use his wisps for different usages depending on situations.
- Shokku Onibi(ショック鬼火 Shokku Onibi, meaning "Shock Wisp"): Xenos releases red wisps that strikes the target and deals an internal shock, hitting the soul itself. The more wisps Xenos releases, the higher the shock would be delivered onto the target.
- Haipuno Onibi(ハイプノ火 Haipuno Onibi, meaning "Hypno Wisp"): Xenos releases yellow wisp that hypnotizes the target allowing them to following it for a short period of time.
- Reitō Onibi(冷凍鬼火 Reitō Onibi, meaning "Freezing Wisp"): Xenos releases blue wisps when they hit the target, sets them on a frozen fire freezing the target.
- Gensō Onibi(幻想鬼火 Gensō Onibi, meaning "Illusion Wisp"): Xenos releases purple wisps onto his target, hypnotizing the target, forcing them to see an illusion of their own making to the point of insanity.
- Ōhō Onibi(応報鬼火 Ōhō Onibi, meaning "Blinding Wisp"): Used to get out of tough situations, Xenos releases white wisps that when activated, they emit a violently blinding light.
When not using his fruit for combat, the wisps can be used as a light source or a guide for his crew if one of them ends up lost. Another color of wisp, being green can be used as a scout giving Xenos both sight and sound though it requires full concentration to use it.
