This article/page/content, Waku Waku no Mi, is the sole property of user ZeoSpark. Please do not make any changes without his permission. Thank you for reading!

The Waku Waku no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gives the user properties of a planet which can range from floating, having their own orbit and gravity, and Earth manipulation making the user a "Planet Human". It was eaten by Gaia.

Etymology[]

  • Waku (?) is Japanese for "planet".

Strength and Weaknesses[]

Strengths[]

"This ol' powers of mine make this gal quite the powerhouse! I can float, make things spin around mah body, and even generate super energy blasts from my core! Even the ground beneath us is at my control! Ah'am a livin' planet alright!"
—Gaia explaining her powers.

This fruit's main function, as demonstrated by Gaia, allows the user to have properties of a planet. One of it's main offensive abilities is being able to produce and manipulate earth similar to the Dachi Dachi no Mi's powers. The user doesn't transform into earth itself, but is able to layer themselves with earth making it appear as if they are. They can even cause earthquakes and cause landslides if they are near a mountain or cliffside making it useful for dealing with large crowds.

Another useful function of this fruit is that the user possess their own orbit. The orbit is automatic and can drawn in large objects that are around them. According to Gaia, the amount on which the user can drawn in depends on their own size and strength as an extremely tall and strong Mink such as her is able to orbit around large boulders (although mentions it took practicing with her powers for years to do so). The orbit force is strong and weaker opponents can get drawn in by it becoming damaged by the rocks in the orbit. The user of this orbit can also control when it turns on and off allowing for the rocks and opponents to fall down resembling a meteor shower. This is effective as the user is able to float in the air as high as they want. The user even is able to survive in space if they should ever venture out there.

Another unique aspect of this fruit is that, much like the planet itself, the user has different "layers" that get lower the more they take damage. First is the crust where there body falls off as pieces of rock similar to the Dachi Dachi no Mi, granted the user cannot transform into rock to pass by their attack. As Gaia says, her body is made of rock as even non-Haki moves can hurt her unless she didn't apply Haki to defend with. Once the crust layer has been broken, then the mantle is exposed allowing the user to generate larges amounts of heat. This heat can be used alongside producing rocks allowing the user to launch super-heated rocks for attacks. The third layer is the outer core where the user's heat becomes intense. This layer is also notable for being made of liquid granting the user intangibility of a Logia and is able to launch liquid heat attacks. Finally, there is the core itself where the user becomes a solid again but is made of pure geothermal energy becoming so hot they can melt an entire iceberg just by standing on it. Gaia herself considers this form incredibly powerful and can easily destroy cities if forced to use her whole power.

Weaknesses[]

Despite how powerful this fruit is, it has it's fair share of weaknesses. As stated above, the user can only produce and manipulate rock instead of transforming into it or merging with it. As such, this fruit can be countered by the Dachi Dachi no Mi and the Ishi Ishi no Mi and the ability to manipulate magma and produce geothermal energy isn't as powerful as the Magu Magu no Mi and the Jio Jio no Mi (although the user can mess around with their abilities due to their physiology).
